Artesyn Technologies Adds to the BXB Family of Converters

March 05, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Artesyn Technologies Inc. (Boca Raton, FL) recently added the BXB150-24V to the BXB family of standard, half-brick dc/dc converters.

According to Artesyn, the BXB150-24V extends the output current capability of the 24V input series to 30A. Artesyn claims the BXB150-24V combines proven technology and high-reliability in a design suited to wireless, telecom and industrial systems applications.

The BXB150-24V comes in a 2.28" x 2.4" x 0.5" package, and is available with an output voltage of 3.3Vdc. Typical efficiency for the module is claimed to be 77 percent to 80 percent. The BXB150-24V is designed to offer form, fit and function compatibility to industry standards, providing drop-in replacement for most applications. The device is designed to operate up to 100 degrees C for baseplate temperatures, and for higher-temperature environments, Artesyn offers a range of mountable heatsinks. The modules are designed to have a 1,500Vdc input-to-output, input-to-case and output-to-case isolation ratings and are also UL, VDE and CSE approved.

Samples are currently available from stock with six-week lead times for production quantities. In quantities of 500, pricing for the BXB150-24V is $97 each.
