APT Reports COOLMOS Agreement with Infineon

Advanced Power Technology Inc. (APT, Bend, OR) announced that it has reached an agreement with Infineon Technologies AG, a long-term strategic partner, for purchase of COOLMOS® Power MOSFET die for packaging and selling of finish products under the APT brand name. APT intends to sell into market segments not covered by Infineon Technologies mainly using alternative packaging and innovated engineering to serve those market segments.

APT will be offering both 600V and 800V COOLMOS® Power MOSFETs in a variety of standard packages, including TO-247, T-MAX™ and ISOTOP® (SOT-227), along with custom packages, including multi-chip, hermetic, modules and die. Multi-chip solutions can include paralleling for higher power and/or combining them with fast recovery diodes. Data sheets describing the features and benefits are available to assist the designer, and can be downloaded from the company’s website or obtained from the factory.

Product samples are available in a wide range of on-resistance, current ratings and packages. High-volume production is operational now. Volume pricing starts at $2.56.
