Apex Microtechnology Debuts New PA40 Power Amplifier

August 21, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Apex Microtechnology Corp. (Tucson, AZ) announced the new PA40 monolithic 250V power amplifier housed in the very small, industry-standard TO-220 package. The PA40 provides a cost-effective solution for driving capacitive loads for piezo-electric positioning, as well as electrostatic transducer and deflection applications.

Output current ratings for the PA40 are specified at 60mA continuous and 120mA peak. Quiescent current is a low 1.6mA. In addition, the PA40 allows for external compensation to provide flexibility for user-defined and application-specific optimum gain and bandwidth.

The Apex PA40 is priced at $9.80 for 100-piece quantities.
