APC Partners with LG&E Energy Corporation

American Power Conversion (APC; West Kingston, RI) announced that it is partnering with LG&E Energy Corp. (Louisville, KY) in an effort to increase power reliability and computer systems availability for LG&E Energy's residential commercial and industrial customers. As part of the agreement, LG&E Energy's two utilities, Louisville Gas & Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities (KU), will offer APC's entire line of award-winning power-protection products and services to the utilities' more than one million electric and natural gas customers throughout Kentucky.

Effective immediately, LG&E and KU will offer APC surge protectors and the company's entire line of UPSs, including APC's Back-UPS, Smart-UPS, Matrix-UPS, Symmetra Power Array and Silicon DP300E.LG&E and KU will make APC's products available online, and through LG&E's Technical Sales Group for large commercial and industrial customers who require consultative services.APC and LG&E Energy will participate in joint marketing programs designed to increase awareness and usage of these power-protection solutions.
