Anderson Power Products Debuts the Powerclaw Series

May 02, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Anderson Power Products (Sterling, MA) recently debuted the Powerclaw Series of hot-swappable high-amperage power connectors for PCBs. Providing N+1 redundancy for communications and power applications, the new Powerclaw connectors snap together without screws. Their insulated plastic housings are manufactured of UL94V0-rated resin and are color-coated and resistant to impact and corrosion. The connectors have three-claw attachments, and the contacts are tin-plated.

Powerclaw connectors are intermatable with existing Powerpole 75, Locking Powerpole 75 and SB 50 wire connectors. Single-pole configurations are rated at 55A, while the two-pole Powerclaw is rated at 50A per pole. All products in the series are UL-recognized and CSA-approved. The connectors can be hand-soldered for low-volume manufacturing or wave-soldered for high-volume assembly.
