AnalogicTech Offers AAT3258 LDO Linear Regulator

September 01, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Analogic Technologies Inc. (AnalogicTech, Sunnyvale, CA), a developer of power management solutions, introduced its AAT3258 low-dropout voltage (LDO) linear regulator with uP reset, which combines a 300 mA LDO regulator with a low-current uP reset in half the space of two discrete devices, minimizing board size for portable products such as cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras and notebook computers.

The AAT3258 has a shutdown mode to extend battery life and the dropout voltage is only 400 mV at full 300 mA output. The microprocessor reset section typically consumes just 1 µA of quiescent current and has an active low reset output. The AAT3258 also features complete over-current/short-circuit protection and over-temperature protection circuits for reliable operation in extreme operating conditions.

The AAT3258 is qualified across the standard -40 °C to +85 °C industrial temperature range. It is available now in an eight-pin TSOPJW package. Pricing starts at $0.76 per unit in 1,000-piece quantities.
