AnalogicTech Intros New AAT3223 LDO Regulator

November 02, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Analogic Technologies Inc. (AnalogicTech, Sunnyvale, CA), a developer of innovative power management solutions, announced its AAT3223, a low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator featuring a low quiescent current for power-sensitive portable applications. The device also features an integrated PowerOK function that monitors the LDO output voltage and alerts the system when the output falls out of regulation.

The AAT3223, a member of AnalogicTech’s NanoPower line, features a 250mA output current and 1.1µA quiescent current. Dropout voltage, typically 190mV at 100mA, is also very low. The AAT3223 features over-temperature and current-limit protection circuits. It is suitable for a wide range of functions in personal digital assistants, cellular phones, digital cameras and other portable electronics products. The device also offers a power-conserving enable pin, which when pulled low will put the LDO into a shutdown mode to extend battery life.

The AAT3223 is available now in a small, six-pin SOT23, or eight-pin SC70JW package. It is rated over a –40°C to +85°C temperature range. The AAT3223 is priced at $0.49 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
