Analog Devices Unveils AD8353/AD8354 Amplifiers

December 02, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Analog Devices Inc. (Wilmington, MA) announced the AD8353 and AD8354 broadband, fixed-gain, linear amplifiers that operate at frequencies from 100MHz to 2.7GHz. Both provide a fixed gain of 20dB with single-ended input and output, internally matched to 50 Ohms. They are specified for operation with a bias voltage of 3V to 5V.

The AD8353 provides a linear output power of 8dBm and a third-order intercept point of 23dBm, while drawing only 42mA supply current. The AD8354 provides a linear output of 4dBm and a third-order intercept of 19dBm, while drawing only 24mA supply current. The devices are housed in a space-saving 3mm x 2mm CSP, which utilizes an exposed paddle and provides high thermal characteristics.

The amplifiers provide detailed operation at 900MHz, 1.9GHz and 2.7GHz over -40 to +85 degrees C, at both 3V and 5V bias voltage. The devices are suitable for applications such as VCO buffers, power amplifier pre-amplifiers and low-power antenna drivers.

The AD8353 and AD8354 are both quoted at $1.05 in 1,000-piece quantities.
