Anachip Presents New AP2001 PWM Controller

November 13, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Anachip Corp. (Taiwan) unveiled its new AP2001 dual-channel PWM controller, which incorporates all the functions required for the construction of two PWM control circuits into a 17-lead SOP or PDIP, and is targeted at driving circuits of CCFLs and PC-peripheral power supply controls.

The IC contains an on-chip, 2.5V, band-gap reference; two error amplifiers; an adjustable oscillator; two dead-time comparators; and dual common-emitter output transistor circuits. The dead-time control is claimed by the company to provide up to full dead time through external alteration. Additional features include under-voltage lockout circuitry and short-circuit protection. The switching frequency of the AP2001 is adjustable by tuning the timing capacitor and resistor.

The AP2001 is priced at $0.80 each in quantities of 1,000.
