American Power Conversion Introduces New PowerChute Inventory Manager

May 14, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

American Power Conversion (West Kingston, RI) has introduced the power-protection industry's first proactive UPS inventory management and reporting tool for groups of UPSs on a network.

The PowerChute Inventory Manager enables network administrators to increase the availability of their network by proactively maintaining the health and efficiency of their UPS system. PowerChute offers administrators the ability to proactively maintain up to 10,000 UPS systems on the network. By providing these detailed UPS inventory reports through a web browser, administrators can now retrieve information and diagnose UPS problems, helping to reduce overall network downtime.

Key benefits of the PowerChute include a proactive battery manager, budgeting and planning, and inventory information, which is available via a web browser. Additionally, the PowerChute Inventory Manager includes industry-standard formats and protocols. These include an ODBC complaint database, SNMP communication, a web-browser interface, and an export to a standard format such as Microsoft Word, Excel or RTF format.
