Allegro MicroSystems Inc. (Worcester, MA) unveiled the ATS660, a zero-speed digital differential Hall-effect sensor targeted for the automotive and industrial markets. It is suitable for sensing the speed and position of fine-pitch targets in demanding transmission and gear-box applications.
The sensor has an open-collector output for direct digital interfacing and is offered in two highly integrated packages. The device incorporates self-calibration circuitry, providing high duty-cycle measurement accuracy over a large installation air gap range (>2.5mm). The self-calibration circuitry cancels out the effect of temperature variation, as well as system and magnet offsets. This contributes to high immunity to gear eccentricity and wobble.
Pricing is $3.57 each in quantities of 1,000.
