AEC-Q200 5A Inductor with 5mm Profile for Under-the-Hood Applications

July 29, 2019 by Scott McMahan

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. added the Vishay Dale IHLP-5050EZ-5A to its offering of automotive-grade IHLP® low profile, high-current inductors with a new device in the 5050 case size. IHLP-5050EZ-5A combines a high operating temperature to +155°C with a low profile of 5mm to save space in under-the-hood automotive applications.

Vishay optimized the AEC-Q200 qualified device for energy storage in dc-dc converters up to MHz. It also provides exceptional attenuation of noise in high current filtering applications up to the SRF of the inductor.

With its high operating temperature, Vishay designed the device for filtering and dc-dc conversion in engine and transmission control units, diesel injection drivers, and navigation/entertainment systems. It is also suitable for noise suppression for motors, power mirrors, windshield wipers, and seats, HID, and LED lighting, as well as heating and ventilation blowers.

The IHLP-5050EZ-5A features high efficiency with typical DCR from 0.69mΩ to 188.0mΩ and has a wide range of inductance values from 0.22µH to 82.0µH. The device provides rated current to 69.24A and handles high transient current spikes without saturation.

In a 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz to ultra-low levels, the inductor offers high resistance to moisture, as well as thermal and mechanical shock.

IHLP-5050EZ-5A is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
