ADL's Epyx Merges with De Nora Fuel Cells to Form Nuvera Fuel Cells

April 16, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Arthur D. Little (ADL, Cambridge, MA) has announced the merger of it's industry-leading Epyx fuel processing business with De Nora Fuel Cells (Milan, Italy) to form Nuvera Fuel Cells. Nuvera will maintain operations in Cambridge and Milan and will increase its staff from 80 to more than 200 by the end of the year. Nuvera will also aid in the US Department of Energy's (DOE) effort to bring fuel cells to the marketplace. Since 1992, ADL's Epyx has created novel fuel-processing systems in power capacities ranging from 300W to 200kW.

Nuvera plans to conduct prototype demonstrations of integrated stationary power systems, which will lead to beta-test systems and commercial prototype power modules in 2001.
