Adept Technology Inc. (San Jose, CA) announced the introduction of the second in a family of distributed motion and vision controllers, the Adept SmartController CX, which comes with full support for AdeptVision sAVI and a faster processor that supports demanding motion and vision applications.
The SmartController CX also includes additional serial communication ports for added flexibility, as well as standard fast Ethernet, DeviceNet and Adept's FireWire®-based SmartServo network interfaces. The SmartController's distributed network control architecture uses Adept's SmartAmp technology, which allows it to be scalable, and reduces form factor and cabling up to 70 percent.
