Absopulse Introduces MOC 2000 Power Supply System

September 03, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics Ltd. (Canada) introduced its new MOC 2000, which is a multiple-output, configurable power supply system that accommodates a variety of power supply modules in an 88.9mm x 482.6mm x 406.4mm chassis. Billed as especially fit for applications in telecommunications and instrumentation, it can be customized for up to 10 outputs.

Built-in forced-air cooling enables output power levels up to 2kW from a dc or a 115Vac, 230Vac or 85Vac to 264Vac input. Each output, individually floating, can be separately regulated and adjusted. Line-and-load regulation is one percent combined, output ripple and noise is better than one percent of the output voltage peak to peak (or 0.2 percent rms of the output voltage), and efficiency is 75 to 90 percent. The MOC 2000 operates over 0 to 50 degrees C; an extended-temperature-range version is available.

Pricing depends on the type and number of modules; a four-output, 1kW unit is available for $1,200 each in quantities of 10 to 25.
