Absopulse Eurocard Plug-in Inverter Delivers 100VA Sine Wave Output

August 12, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics recently released the CSI 100-EU series, a 100VA sine wave inverter in Eurocard plug-in format, measuring 3Ux160mmx10HP. The company claims that the compact, lightweight design is suitable for modular rack-mount applications in industrial, utility, telecom, mobile and other rugged environments.

The CSI 100-EU provides regulated sinusoidal output voltage of 115Vac continuous at 60Hz or 400Hz, or 230Vac continuous at 50Hz. Low output frequency versions, including 20Hz for ringing generators, are available. The output is fully isolated and floating. Input voltages include 24, 36, 48, 110 or 125Vdc. Efficiency is input voltage dependent, typically 80% at full load.

The CSI 100-EU is fully protected; built-in protection circuits include inrush current limiting, reverse polarity protection, output current limiting with short circuit protection, and thermal shut-down with automatic recovery in case of insufficient airflow. It is filtered to meet EN55022 Class A EMI as a minimum. The unit is also designed to meet international safety standards including EN60950 and related UL and CSA requirements.

Additional ruggedizing and conformal coating are available for applications requiring immunity to high levels of shock, vibration, humidity, moisture and airborne contaminants. Remote inhibit, an output fail alarm (Form C) and custom input/output voltages are also available as options.

The CSI 100-EU plug-in modules are priced in the range of US$300 in quantities of 100, depending on the version and options required.
