Absopulse Debuts BAP319F Series DC-DC Converters

July 27, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics Ltd. (Carp, Ontario, Canada) debuted its new BAP319F Series, a fan-cooled addition to its BAP319 convection-cooled line of dc-dc converters. The new 700 W unit employs the same field-proven, push-pull topology as the earlier convection-cooled version, but provides 40-percent more output power at little additional cost.

The BAP319F delivers any dc output from 12 V to 125 Vdc (12 V, 24 V, 36 V, 48 V, 72 V, and 125 Vdc are standard). It accepts any dc input from 24 V to 125 Vdc (24 V, 48 V, and 125 Vdc are standard). An optional redundancy diode allows for parallel connection to achieve higher output power or N+1 redundancy, which also makes the unit suitable for battery-charging applications.

The fan-cooled converter is rated for operation over a 0 ºC to 50 ºC temperature range at full power without de-rating, with extended temperature ranges available as an option. The unit is enclosed in a low-profile 2.43 in x 5.96 in x 13.82 in chassis. Features include full electronic protection and input/output filtering to meet EN55022 Class A EMI as a minimum. It is designed to meet international safety approvals, including EN60950 and related UL and CSA standards.

The BAP319F is priced at $372 for quantities of 100.
