9W DC-DCs in SIP Potted Modules Deliver 57.7W/in3

February 18, 2019 by Paul Shepard

Mean Well has launched the 9W single-output SPB09 and dual-output DPB09 series of dc-dc converters. These high-reliability units are in an ultra-small SIP package (24 x 9.6 x 11.2mm) and deliver a power density of 57.7W/in3.

Standard output voltages include 3.3V/5V/12V/15V/24V single-output units and ±5V/±12V/±15V for dual-output units. These dc-dc converters are expected to be used in telecom/datacom system, wireless network equipment, industrial controls, instrumentation, data switches, and so on.

Main features of those two series: standard pin-out and ultra-small size that help providing better power solution for space-constrained equipment, together with features such as 2:1 wide range input voltage (9 to 18V and 18 to 36V and 36 to 75V), ultra-wide working temperature, 1500Vdc input/output isolation, remote ON/OFF control, output short circuit and overload protection.

In addition, due to the internal potting package design, it is highly free from impact resulting from external high dust and high humidity harsh environmental. With such high reliability, it is suitable for electronic instruments, information and communication equipment, industrial automation, and distributed power architecture related applications.
