700W Isolated Half-Brick DC-DC with No Minimum Load Requirement

The new ADH700 series half-brick isolated dc-dc converter from Artesyn provides a single regulated low noise output. ADH700-48S28 offers a 28V/25A output, and ADH700-48S50 provides 50V/14A output. The series has a telecom input range of 36Vdc to 75Vdc and is designed primarily for use with standard 48V telecommunications equipment supplies.

The converter's main application field is in low power and remote radio head telecommunications.

With a 700-Watt rating and high conversion efficiency of >95% at half load, the converter can operate over an ambient temperature range of -40˚C to +85˚C and continue to deliver full power up to a baseplate temperature of 100˚C. The output voltage can be trimmed from 14Vdc to 33Vdc to meet a broad range of application demands, and the series has no minimum load requirement.

The use of 280kHz fixed-frequency switching helps the conversion technology minimize external EMI filtering requirements.

The high power density open-frame design incorporates an aluminum thermal baseplate. Artesyn optimized the series for either conduction or forced air cooling. ADH700 series converters have an installed height of just 0.5in (12.7mm), making them suitable for systems with strict inter-board spacing requirements.

Standard features include input under-voltage lockout, remote on/off and differential remote sense, as well as comprehensive protection against over-temperature and output over-current or over-voltage conditions.
