The new AMEL5-277NZ from Aimtec is an ac-dc power supply which has been designed to offer greater economies of scale due to greater production automation, leading to improved reliability and performance. PCB-mountable models measure 2.00 x 1.00 x 0.60 inches (50.80 x 25.40 x 15.36mm).
Offering a wide industrial input voltage range of 85- to 305-Vac and an output voltage range from 3.3- to 24-Vdc, this series is expected offer many benefits to new system designs. The AMEL5-277NZ is designed for street lighting controls, grid power, instrumentation, industrial controls, telecom and industry 4.0 (a typical application circuit is illustrated in the schematic above).
This new series features an operating temperature range from -40°C to 70°C with full power delivered from -25°C to +55°C, power derates linearly to 60% between -25°C and -40°C and between 55°C and 70°C. These ac-dc power supplies have an input-to-output isolation of 4000Vac for improved reliability and system safety.
Furthermore, a high MTBF of 300,000 hours, output short circuit protection (OSCP), output over-current protection (OCP) and an output over-voltage protection (OVP) come standard with the series.

In addition to the standard PCB-mountable models, the AMEL5-277NZ series is available with a mounting plate (these units measure 2.99 x 1.24 x 0.95 inches (76.00 x 31.50 x 24.16mm)) or with a combination of a mounting plate and mounting rail (these units measure 2.99 x 1.24 x 1.13 inches (76.00 x 31.50 x 28.76mm)).
