5A, High-Voltage 3-Phase Motor Driver for Low- to Medium-Capacity Motors

April 11, 2019 by Scott McMahan

The new SLA6846MH from Sanken Electric Co., Ltd. is a high-voltage 3-phase motor driver in which transistors, pre-drive circuits, and bootstrap circuits (diodes and resistors) are highly integrated. Supplied in a ZIP24 package (heatsink type) with selectable leadforms, the SLA6846MH is readily mountable to a wide range of applications. The product can optimally control the inverter systems of low- to medium-capacity motors.

Applications for the motor driver include its use for driving a fan motor for an air conditioner or air purifier. It can also drive an electric fan as well as a pump motor and fan motor for a washer and dryer.

The 5A, 3-phase motor driver has a breakdown voltage of 600V. The driver's protections include UVLO_VB auto-restart, UVLO_VCC1 auto-restart, UVLO_VCC2 auto-restart, and fault signal output for thermal detection.
