50A Imax-rated Low Resistance PPTC Resettable Fuses
The Bourns Multifuse Product Line announced the expansion of its low resistance model families MF-PSML/X, MF-NSML/X and MF-USML/X surface mount Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) resettable fuses. These series include three SMD sizes in EIA 0805, 1206 and 1210, and each series has been expanded to include lower cost 6Vdc Vmax rated models with 50A Imax ratings to complement Bourns’ already successful offering of 12V and 8V Vmax rated models.
Bourns’ proprietary low-resistance material formulations used in these model families enable post-trip resistance values as low as 0.007 ohms and initial resistance values as low as 0.001 ohms.
Low resistance values help boost the current carrying capability of the devices, while the proprietary Bourns® formulations provide superior resistance stability for greater long-term reliability.
The expanded MF-PSML/X, MF-NSML/X and MF-USML/X model families utilize Bourns’ innovative freeXpansion™ design that increases the performance of the resettable fuse with:
- Higher hold current ratings (Ihold)
- Higher maximum voltage ratings (Vmax)
- Improved resistance stability
- Smaller footprints
All three Multifuse® PPTC model families are RoHS compliant*, halogen free**, UL/ TÜV recognized for safety requirements, and are produced in Bourns’ IATF 16949 certified facility in Xiamen, China.
