35W, 65W, and 100W Non-Isolated DC-DCs with up to 97% Efficiency

February 01, 2019 by Scott McMahan

Mean Well has upgraded the performance of its NID series of non-isolated dc-dc converters and added 100W models to the series. (see image above). The new NID series is suitable for communication, networking equipment, industrial automation, security, telecom, and distributed power architecture, and other related power applications.

NID series helps meet the demand for non-isolated, low-cost, and low-profile plug-in assembly, dc-dc converters. The company re-designed the NID30 to deliver 35W. And redesigned the NID60 to deliver 65W.  NID35/65 series now offer improved efficiency.

The new NID series offers higher wattages and higher operating temperatures. With the same package sizes, NID35 can directly replace NID30, and NID65 can seamlessly upgrade NID60. The features include the wide input voltage range of 10.5Vdc~53Vdc to cover 24V or 48V dc bus voltages regularly used in systems. The new converters operate at temperatures from -30 to +85 °C with convection cooling.

It can meet EN55032 Class A EMI radiation standard without adding an extra component. Mean Well backs the new devices with a 3-year long-term warranty.
