3500W Digital Parallelable High Efficiency Water-Cooled Power Supplies

The PHP-3500 from Mean Well is a 3.5kW single output enclosed type ac-dc water-cooled power supply which adopts fully digital power supply design and possesses rich features such as 96% efficiency, programmable output, support communication, multiply output power in parallel connection, in 60mm profile and 18W/inch3 power density.

This series can operate at both 90- to 264-Vac and 120-  to 370-Vdc input voltage and offers models with 24- or 48-Vdc outputs mostly demanded by the industry. Unique water-cooling technology offers the most effective heat dissipation to each model. Compare with conventional PSU with fan-cooling, it neither has annoying acoustic fan noise nor power fail problem triggered by fan failure event. So, the overall reliability of the power unit is greatly improved.

Moreover, PHP-3500 provides vast design flexibility by equipping various built-in functions such as auto de-rating function, remote ON-OFF control, auxiliary power, active current sharing and built-in ORing FETs for output parallel configuration and etc. When PSUs are in parallel operation, maximum power reaches 14kW.

Thanks to continuous R&D innovation on technology, it contributes to Mean Well's first fully digitalized water-cooling PSU series. Digitalized PSU design further improves efficiency in power conversion, product reliability and also makes possible programmable tuning together with monitor and control over electrical parameters.

This series features built-in PMBus communication protocols, CANBus as optional. By integrating Mean Well's human-machine interface (HMI) with digital power units, simultaneous system-wise power management is feasible through digital controllers on-board HMI and PSUs.

In addition, with active short circuit, overload, overvoltage and over temperature protections, the goal of intelligent power supply is therefore achieved. This series is suitable for applications in industrial laser processing equipment, solid-state microwave telecommunication equipment, food processing equipment and battery charging that require power source capable of ultra-high output (10kW and beyond).
