100V and 120V Schottkys Offer Forward Voltage Drop Down to 0.36V

October 08, 2018 by Paul Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today introduced four new 100V and 120V TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers that provide up to 20mV lower forward voltage than previous-generation devices. The Vishay General Semiconductors V30100CI, V30120CI, V40100CI, and V40120CI offer current ratings of 30A and 40A in the TO-220AB package.

The new rectifiers are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, and they feature a maximum operating junction temperature of +150°C. Their TO-220AB package features solder bath temperatures of 275°C maximum, 10 seconds, per JESD 22-B106.

With their low forward voltage drop down to 0.36V at 5A, the rectifiers released today reduce power losses and improve efficiency in high frequency dc-dc converters, switching power supplies, freewheeling and OR-ing diodes, and reverse battery protection. The devices are designed for 65W USB Type-C power delivery for notebook computers and mobile devices.

Samples and production quantities of the new 100V and 120V TMBS rectifiers are available now, with lead times of 30 weeks. Pricing for U.S. delivery begins at $0.70 per piece.
