Zetex Semiconductors Releases Two MOSFETs in New ZXMN Series

July 18, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Zetex Semiconductors (Commack, NY) has introduced the first two devices from their projected range of new-generation n-channel MOSFETs, the ZXMN3AO1F and the ZXMN3A02X8.

The ZXMN3AO1F is SOT-23-packaged and rated at 30V. Its continuous drain current is 2.05A, afforded by an on-resistance of 90mohms for a Vgs of 10V, and 145mohms for a Vgs of 4.5V. A gate charge of 2.3nC ensures low switching loss and high efficiency in high-frequency, low-voltage switching applications.

For increased current capability, the ZXMN3A02X8 is rated at 30V, with a continuous current rating of 6.7A, allowed by an on-resistance of 18mohms for a Vgs of 10V. This device has a Vgs of 4.5V with 25mohms. The gate charge is 14.5nC.

Both package variants feature a low gate-threshold charge and a low gate-charge requirement. They are suitable for use in low-voltage dc/dc conversion, dc motor drives, power management and load-interface functions.

In quantities of 1,000 pieces, the ZXMN3AO1F is priced at $0.16 each, and the ZXMN3A02X8 at $0.64 each. Both are quoted with a four- to six-week delivery for production volumes.
