Yuasa Expands Independence NP Series of VRLA Batteries with NP8.5-12 & NP-20-12

Yuasa Inc. (Reading, PA) has expanded its line of Independence NP Series of VRLA batteries with two new units claimed to deliver significantly improved performance over other batteries with the same footprint. The new batteries are considered ideal for UPS, telecom and other limited space applications that require high performance and power.The new batteries have been optimized for high-rate performance. The NP8.5-12 delivers a 21 percent (8.5Ah versus 7Ah) increase in performance over earlier versions within the industry's standard 7Ah footprint; while the NP-20-12 offers a 16 percent increase in performance (20Ah versus 17.2Ah) within the industry standard 18Ah footprint. The batteries have a life expectancy of 3 to 5 years in standby use and can be operated or stored in any position.Both the Yuasa NP Series batteries are available with an ABS or ABSVO (flame retardant) case and are UL-recognized. The NP8.5-12 is available with either 0.187" or 0.250" tab terminations. The NP20-12 has bolt fastened termination, with supplied bolt and nut hardware. List pricing for the new independence VRLA batteries is $28 each for the NP8.5-12 and $65 each for the NP20-12.
