XPiQ Presents CFP1K5/CDP1K5 Power Series

October 23, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA), a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ac/dc and dc/dc power supply products, released two new series, the CFP1K5 Series of front-end systems and the CDP1K5 Series of rectifier systems. Both series deliver up to 1,500W of output power with a high power density of 8.62W/in³ for each module. The CFP1K5 is suitable for distributed power applications requiring a +48Vdc front-end while the CDP1K5’s -54Vdc output makes a perfect choice for battery-charging applications.

Packaged in a compact, 1.6U high chassis, each series offers an optional 19in rack allowing up to three modules to current share for redundancy, or to be paralleled for increased power, which provides the flexibility for allowing either 4,500W in a parallel configuration or 3,000W with a 2+1 redundancy. An optional three-phase input is also available enabling wide power distribution for a variety of applications. Both series accept an input-voltage range from 90Vac to 264Vac with active power-factor correction. Output power of 1,500W is available at high line (>180Vac) and low line (<180Vac) at 1,000W. All models meet international safety agency standards and carry the CE Mark (LVD).

Standard features with each series include active current sharing between units; hot-swappable, 5V standby; no minimum load; remote sensing; remote on/off; OR-ing diodes; over-voltage and over-current protection; and typical 91% efficiency at full-load, high-line input.

Pricing for both the CFP1K5 and CDF1K5 Series is as low as $529 for 1,000 pieces. Both series are available in small quantities with production volume available in 8 to 10 weeks ARO.
