Wireless Charging Coils Handle up to 15W

November 20, 2017 by Paul Shepard

NIC Components announced the standardization of their established NWC series of transmitting and receiving wireless charging coils available now within the performance passive lineup.

The NWC series standard offering focuses on inductive technology in both receiving and transmitting configurations. 24 individual values are available with sizes ranging from 12mm to 57mm footprints in circular and rectangular options.

Receiver coils have inductance values range from 6.3uH to 24uH in ±10% tolerance with power ratings up to 5W. Transmitter coils have inductance vales from 6.0uH to 24uH with power ratings up to 15W. All components have an operating temperature range of -25°C to +85°C.

The NWC Series is RoHS Compliant without exemptions, halogen free and REACH SVHC 174 compliant. Electrical characteristics include:

Wireless charging is an emerging and rapid adopting technology within the electronics industry offering benefits such as environmentally green and clutter reducing convenience for both designers and consumers. As the power capabilities extend beyond 15 Watts it is expected this technology's use will rise. NIC Components is ready for this growing need.

Wireless charging coils are a perfect fit into the performance passive lineup. Together with NIC's low ESR aluminum and high CV ceramic capacitors, specialty resistors and power inductors the NWC series is ideal for use in end products including robotics and drones, wearable devices, and consumer devices.
