Walsin Technology Announces the HV1812 Series of Capacitors

August 05, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Walsin Technology Corp. (Taiwan) announced the HV1812 Series of chip capacitors. The new series provides 47pF capacitance and is housed in an 1812 case. The capacitance tolerance is rated at +/-5 percent and +/110 percent. The company reports that its capacitors' dielectric strength is up to 110 percent of its rated voltage.

The HV1812 Series exhibits an insulation resistance of 10gigohms. Their temperature coefficient is 0, +/130ppm per degree C. They feature nickel-over-tin/lead terminations and can withstand 10s of soldering at 260 degrees C.

Walsin's new series of chip capacitors is suitable for use in diode-snubber circuits in switching-power supplies, as well as in voltage-multiplier circuits where surge protection is involved. Other applications include ballasts for LCD backlighting inverters and LAN products.
