Vishay Releases New 45 V TMBS Trench MOS Barrier Schottky Rectifiers

December 04, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has added new 45 V TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers offering high current density with forward currents of 3 A and 5 A in the surface-mount SlimSMA™ DO-221AC package featuring a low 0.95 mm profile. With extremely low forward voltage drops down to 0.37 V typical at 3 A, the new VSSAF3L45 and VSSAF5L45 reduce power loss and improve efficiency in low-voltage, high-frequency dc-dc converters, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection in space-constrained applications such as smartphone chargers.

The new rectifiers feature a maximum operation junction temperature of +150 °C and an MSL moisture sensitivity level of 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 260 °C. Ideal for automated placement, the devices are compliant to RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU and halogen-free according to JEDEC JS709A standards.

The VSSAF3L45 features a Vf of 0.37V and an IFSM of 80A. The VSSAF5L45 features a Vf of 0.39V and an IFSM of 100A. Samples and production quantities of the new 45 V TMBS rectifiers are available now, with lead times of four weeks for larger orders.
