Vishay Offers TSOP48xxxxAM Receiver Modules

September 23, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced the release of a new series of miniaturized IR receiver modules approved for a storage temperature range of -40°C to +90°C in automotive environments. Designed for remote control systems in automotive applications requiring an extended storage temperature range, the new TSOP48xxxxAM multi-functioned IR receiver modules will be used primarily for in-car entertainment systems.

The new receiver modules integrate a photo detector and preamplifier in a single compact package with internal metal shielding for protection against electrical field disturbances, as well as automatic gain control (AGC) circuitry for suppression of ambient light disturbances. The receiver modules feature dimensions of 6mm x 6.95mm x 5.6mm, high immunity against ambient light, low power consumption, a low active output, a supply voltage of 4.5V to 5.5V, and seven standard carrier frequencies ranging from 30kHz to 56kHz.

Samples and production quantities of the new TSOP48xxxxAM IR receiver module are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing for delivery in 100,000-piece quantities starts at $80 per 100 pieces.
