May 28, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced the new IHLP-5050FD-01 Series of low-profile, high-current inductor with typical DCR values as low as 0.47 milliohms and low losses at frequencies up to 5MHz. The new inductors are designed to provide a higher-performing, power-saving and space-saving solution for dc/dc converter and energy storage applications in end products, including computers, servers, telecom and automotive electronics.

Devices in the IHLP-5050FD-01 Series are offered in a surface-mount package measuring just 0.508in x 0.520in x 0.256in. The inductor's high saturation current ranges from 30A to 120A, and its maximum DCR values range from 0.50 milliohms to 11.2 milliohms. Standard inductance values range from 0.10µH to 4.7µH, with a tolerance of ±20%. At full rated current, the IHLP devices feature an inductance drop of less than 20%.

The IHLP-5050FD-01 inductors feature a self-shielded package and meet military specifications for resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock and vibration. Samples and production quantities are available now. Lead time for production quantities is six weeks. Pricing for US delivery only in 10,000-piece quantities starts at $0.85.
