Unipower Telecom Introduces the Meridian RMP Series

March 08, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Unipower Telecom (Coral Springs, FL) introduced the Meridian RMP Series, which is capable of producing up to 200A at 27.2Vdc or 100A at 54.4Vdc from a 23-inch shelf housing up to four rectifier modules. The individual rectifier modules each produce 50A at 27.2V or 25A at 54.5V, with a power density of 6.4W per cubic inch. The units are 3.5 inches high.

The rectifier modules feature automatic load sharing, input power factor correction and integral output Oring diodes, which permit hot-swap module replacement. The output voltage can be adjusted over a range of 45V to 58V, or 22.5V to 29V, depending on the model. The adjustment is done by means of a front-panel mounted, multi-turn potentiometer or an analog remote adjust input. The remote adjust input permits automatic setting of float and equalize output voltages by means of an external controller.

Additional features include system monitoring and control functions such as as power good and dc power good logic outputs, remote enable logic input and remote sensing. There are also ac power good and dc power good LED indicators on the front panel of each module. Input voltage range is 170Vac to 264Vac. Each rectifier is cooled by a single 80mm front-panel ball bearing fan. The rectifiers meet UL, CSA and EN safety standards, and are CE marked.

The Meridian Series rectifiers are priced as low as $582 each for the hot-swap power modules and $455 for the companion 23-inch shelf. Delivery is in four to six weeks.
