May 16, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Unipower Corp. (Coral Springs, FL) introduced the new TMH series of 600W hot-swap front end power systems. With three modules in the mating 2U high, 19-inch rack system, either 1200W 2+1 redundant or 1800W output is available in 24V or 48V configurations for distributed power architectures. The TMH hot swap modules feature a compact 2.5 x 5 x 12 case giving a power density of 4W per cubic inch with 855 efficiency, including an output isolation diode. They have input power factor correction of 0.99, meetingEN61000-3-2, and have a Class B input EMI filter. The complete power system can be operated as a battery-backup system with a direct-coupled 24V or 48V battery. TMH series prices in OEM quantities are as low as $339 each for the hot-swap modules and $299 each for the 2U-high system rack with easy-connect backplane.
