Tyco Electronics Unveils JPW200 DC/DC Converter

November 20, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Tyco Electronics Power Systems Inc. (Dallas, TX) announced its latest JPW200™ single-output, dc/dc converter, which is suitable for next-generation, voice over Internet protocol, local area networks (LAN) and isolated bus voltage applications. The low-profile, open-frame, JPW200 power module creates cost savings, provides thermal performance and meets the IEEE 802.3af standard for 2,250Vdc isolation for power-over-LAN applications.

The JPW200 module offers an input-voltage range of 38Vdc to 75Vdc; a regulated 52.5Vdc output with a 2:1 input-voltage range; a full-load efficiency of 93% at 200W; a low profile of 2.40in x 2.28in x 0.43in (61.0mm x 57.9mm x 10.9mm); an industry standard pinout; remote on/off (positive and negative logics); protection against over-current, over-temperature and output over-voltage conditions; and auto restart after a fault shutdown and output-voltage trim.

The JPW200 converter is priced at $66.80 for 1,000-unit quantities. Samples are available now.
