Tripp Lite Intros SmartPro 450 RT UPS

June 06, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Tripp Lite (Chicago) introduced the SmartPro 450 RT UPS, which features an innovative new design concept making it adaptable to rack-mount, wall-mount, under-monitor, and tower applications. Included brackets attach to the UPS in a variety of configurations, converting the system into a wall-mount tower or rack-mount unit as needed. These brackets conveniently mount a SmartPro 450RT on a wall or under a counter in POS applications where space is an important issue. The SmartPro 450 RT's slim-line design occupies 1U of rack-mount space. Without brackets, it can be used as an under-monitor UPS that saves desktop or counter space. The SmartPro 450 RT features 450VA of battery back-up to keep systems running through brownouts and blackouts. Automatic voltage regulation (AVR) automatically boosts or cuts a wide range of incoming voltages to provide attached equipment with constant 120V computer-grade power. Five ac outlets, four with UPS protection, provide surge, spike and line noise protection to critical equipment. One surge-only ac outlet provides a solution for protecting printers and peripherals. A removable front panel allows easy user access to batteries. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the SmartPro 450 is $299.
