May 07, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

Transphorm Inc. today announced that Bret Daniels has joined the company as its Vice President of Sales. Since mid-March, Bret has assumed responsibility for growing Transphorm's revenue as more customers move their designs into production. Daniels previously held sales positions at both International Rectifier and Fairchild Semiconductor where he led sales and applications teams in the U.S. and South America, expanding revenue in industrial, lighting and motor control applications at more than double the market growth rate. Having worked in the power semiconductor industry for more than 25 years, Bret has a strong reputation in both sales and quality organizations and is well suited to expand the rapidly growing demand for Transphorm's high-voltage GaN products.

“Without question, Transphorm has assembled the most impressive GaN technical and engineering talent on the planet to produce solutions that satisfy customer demands for better form factor and efficiency,” said Transphorm CEO Humi Esaka. “Now that GaN has moved from a ‘nice to have’ into a ‘must-have’ product, Bret has the knowledge and experience to lead our sales growth into the power conversion market segments. With our rapidly growing sales demand and expanding production capacity, Bret will help to advance Transphorm to the next level of business achievement.”
