Toshiba Expands Line-up of Discrete IGBTs for General and Industrial Purposes

Toshiba Corporation has expanded its line-up of 6th-generation hard-switching discrete IGBT series for general and industrial purposes with the addition of "GT50J342", a TO-3P(N) package product with ratings of IC = 55A and VCES = 600V. The new series guarantees VCE(sat) = 1.5V (typ.) under the conditions of IC = 50A and tsc = 5s (Tj less-than or equal to 150oC) and is suited for use in general-purpose inverters and motor drives.

Features of the new IGBTs include: Low saturation voltage: VCE(sat) = 1.5V (typ.) @ IC = 50A; High junction temperature: Tj = 175oC; Allowable short-circuit time: tsc = 5s (Tj less-than or equal to 150oC); Incorporates FRD (fast-recovery diodes). Devices in the new family include: 15A GT15J341 in a TO220SIS package; 20A GT20J341 also in a TO220SIS package; and the 30A GT30J341, and 50A GT50J342, both in a TO-3P(N) package.
