Lucent Technologies (Murray Hill, NJ) recently announced three new power products. According to Lucent, the Onami, Zephyr and JAHC/JAHW- (S) products are designed for high-performance microprocessors, high-end servers and data networking applications. Lucent claims the Onami Power Module Series features the first isolated 48V power module with true load-sharing capability during current transient. The module also features a programmable output voltage range (1.3V - 3.5V) at 30A. Lucent also claims this series has the fastest transient response in a 48V isolated product (50A/uSec) and has a leading industry footprint with no impedance to airflow. The series also features transient load-sharing in parallel operations. The Zephyr Power Module Series is claimed to be the first 0.8V surface-mount power module. Lucent claims this series has the fastest transient response in the industry at 600A/uSec and offers 0.8V - 3.5V programmable output voltage at 20A. The series also features 5V - 12V input range and offers a low profile (0.230in/5.8mm). The JAHC/JAHW Surface-Mount Series Power Module is claimed to be the first industry-standard half brick surface mount package with 20A output for high-power from 1.5V - 5V. Lucent also claims the series has a typical efficiency of 90 percent. With unique size, performance or packaging, these new products further solidify Lucent's position as the worldwide leader in power supplies, said Bruce Brock, COO at Lucent Power Systems. In quantities of 1,000, the Zephyr Power Module Series is priced at $44 per unit, the Onami Power Module Series is priced at $65 per unit, and the JAHC/JAHW Surface Mount Series will be priced starting at $78 per unit.
