Taiyo Yuden Intros AR250 Modular Switch-Mode Power Supply

Taiyo Yuden (USA) Inc. (San Marcos, CA) introduced the AR250, the latest addition to its compact line of modular switch-mode power supplies. The AR250 is HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) evaluated to verify design parameters and to ensure 100 percent out of the box operation, according to Taiyo Yuden. TheAR250 was designed for easy modifiability to accommodate the full spectrum of OEM power supply needs and to provide quick prototype delivery or customer modifications to the standard unit. TheAR250 is available now with off-the-shelf to one week delivery for the two most popular four-output voltage combinations: 3.3Vmain, 5V, 12V and 12V auxiliary; and 5V main, 3.3V, 12V and 12V auxiliary. Other voltage combinations will be offered in the near future. TheAR250 provides EN61000-4 surge withstand capability and meets a number of US and European certifications, including CISPR 211/12 and FCC Level B EMI requirements, and CE low-voltage directives. Physically, the open-frame unit measures 9" x 5" x 2" and weighs 2.68 lbs. with integral cooling fan. The AR250 is manufactured in Taiyo Yuden's ISO9001-certified facilities in North America and is priced at $169 in OEM quantities.
