Tadiran and Andon Electronics Introduce Interconnect Solution

June 13, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Tadiran Inc. (Port Washington, NY) has teamed up with Andon Electronics (Lincoln, RI) to introduce a new interconnect solution for Tadiran's coin-sized lithium thionyl-chloride batteries. When used in conjunction with Andon BS Series battery sockets, Tadiran’s cells can be plugged or unplugged from a PCB. In addition, the battery can be installed either before or after soldering.

Suited for harsh environments and remote locations, Tadiran’s coin-sized cells have a temperature range spanning from -55 to 125 degrees C. Their shelf life exceeds 10 years. Andon’s BS Series sockets have lips molded to a high-temperature nylon insulator, which keeps Tadiran cells snugly fixtured, providing protection against shock and vibration.
