Plug and Play Home Energy Storage

November 12, 2015 by Jeff Shepard

Orison offers a home battery that charges itself when utility rates are low so it can be used when rates are high. Unlike other home battery products, it was specifically designed to be lightweight, affordable, and extremely easy to install. The Orison system simply plugs it into an existing wall outlet, and it works.

Orison’s Load Shift technology stores electricity when utility rates are low and powers a home when rates are high. Users will conserve energy and pay a significantly lower energy bill over time. Areas that are prone to power outages from weather or unreliable utility grids know the importance of energy security. When an outage occurs, Orison automatically switches to battery power to power your home.

Current home battery products require owners to pay a trained electrician to install it. This translates to spending more time and money. The Orison system was designed to be as easy to install as it is to use. Simply place the Orison device in any room and plug it in. Orison automatically begins working.

Orison offers two configurations, both offer the following specifications: 2.0 kWh of storage; 2.0 kW continuous and 3.5 kW peak power capacity; Roundtrip ac efficiency is 90%; they operate from 120Vac single-phase power on a 15A circuit and come with a 10-year warranty.

The Orison Tower weighs 40 lbs, is 34 in / 863.6 mm high, 9 in / 228.6 mm wide and includes a built-in LED light, a Bluetooth speaker and an induction phone charger. The Orison Panel weighs 38 lbs, is 22 in / 558.8 mm high, 28 in / 711.2 mm wide and includes a built-in LED light, is wall-mountable and is offered with customizable skins. Both units will be available for shipment in 2016.
