Power Sources Introduces 15W Medical Wall Mount Power Supply
Power Sources Unlimited, Inc. announced the TR15RAM Series of ac-dc medical grade wall mount switching power supplies. The TR15RAM Series provides up to 15 watts of continuous output power. All models meet EN60601-1/UL60601 3rd Edition and EN55011, FCC Class B emissions limits.
The TR15RAM Series meets Energy Star 2.0 Efficiency Level V with efficiency ratings up to 82%. It also meets the stringent requirements of global energy efficiency standards such as EISA2007, CEC and the European ErP Directive for minimum average efficiency of 82% and no-load power consumption of less than 0.5W. The TR15RAM Series operates with a universal ac input of 90–264Vac (47–63Hz) and offers output voltages ranging from 5 to 24Vdc.
Other features include interchangeable ac plugs, continuous short circuit protection, over voltage protection, a wide variety of DC output plugs, cable lengths and types. Available in five different overmold case colors (minimum quantities apply).
Units are economically priced under $19.00 in OEM quantities with delivery from stock to 5–7 weeks ARO.

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules
Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.
