Spectrian (Sunnyvale, CA) showcased a variety of its new single-carrier (SPCA) and multicarrier (MCPA) power amplifiers at ExpoComm Korea 2001. Specialized solutions on display included the new MCPA3060, a power amplifier optimized for CDMA and CDMA2000 technologies. This device is designed to support 1,800MHz CDMA 1xRTT and 3xRTT applications, providing up to 60W of power.

Also on display was the SCCA 1040G, the company's latest single-carrier GSM power amplifier. The SCPA 1040G utilizes LDMOS transistor technology. It was accompanied by the MCPA 2100, a 100W power amplifier that is IS-95C-, IS-136-, AMPS- and CDPD-compliant. Spectrian also premiered the MCPA4030 UMTS amplifier, a third-generation amplifier using Spectrian's CompactMCPA technology. The MCPA4030 has a power output of 30W for UMTS/IMT-2000 third-generation base stations.

“Spectrian has made a strong commitment to the development of the Asian market," commented Thomas H. Waechter, Spectrian's president and CEO. “We currently have more than 40 employees in Asia, allowing us to satisfy customers very quickly with new products and with ongoing support."
