Sorensen Adds 37 New Models to DHP Series

May 23, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

The Sorensen division of Elgar (San Diego) has added 37 new models to its DHP Series of dc power supplies, bringing the total number available to 141. The DHP Series provides dc output power from 2kW to 30kW and comes in a thin rackmount profile (2U to 6U). Also new to the series is the Down Programming option, which is available in models with outputs of 80V or more. This option will program the output voltage from 100 percent to 10 percent (no load condition) in less than one second. One down programming cycle can be performed every ten seconds. Programming of the power supplies can be accomplished with the front panel keyboard, remotely via standard non-isolated analog or an optional GPIB IEEE-488.2 interface, an RS 232 interface, or isolated 5V to 10V analog interface. The new models also allow the user to store and recall all programmable voltage, current and auto sequence settings. In addition, the ac input voltage, ambient air inlet temperature, dc output voltage, current and power can be displayed from the front panel at any time. In the event of losing the ac input, or at power up, users can simply press the LAST SET button to restore the supply to its last voltage and current settings. All DHP power supplies are UL and CUL approved as well as TUV tested. Starting price for the DHP is $1,995.
