Self-monitoring Industrial AC-DC with Auxiliary DC Input

February 06, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

Bear Power Supplies, Inc. has introduced a self-monitoring ac-dc converter for outdoor industrial applications. An auxiliary 24-Vdc input provides back-up power to the universal ac input, and facilitates operation in remote areas using generators, photovoltaics or other alternative sources. The self-monitoring feature allows a system processor to monitor the power supply's output current, output voltage and temperature using an I2C interface.

These 75-Watt industrial power supplies feature a wide full-load temperature range of -40 to +70 degrees C and high vibration tolerance, making it compatible with outdoor applications and transportable systems. It is suited for use in oil and gas exploration and extraction as well as other outdoor industrial applications.

Standard output is +12V and +24V; custom voltages are available on request. It measures 6.5 x 4 x 1.25 inches with other form factors possible. All BEAR industrial power supplies are designed and manufactured in the USA and can be customized to meet OEM requirements for power, voltage, form factor, number of outputs and other specifications. Pricing starts at $100 in OEM volumes.
