Schaefer Introduces New C4800 Series Converters

Schaefer Inc. (Ashland, MA) has introduced the C4800 Series of 5kW, 6U high, VME/Eurorack compatible dc/dc and ac/dc converters. The C4800 Series is available in nine standard dc input-voltage ranges (10Vdc to 900Vdc) as well as ac input-voltage ranges of 185Vac to 264Vac and 93Vac to 138Vac/185Vac to 264Vac (switchable). The converter is designed to be used in locomotive controls, communications and charging equipment, telecommunication systems, process-control systems, and power stations.

All units in the C4800 Series have remote sensing, over-voltage protection and current-limit protection on the output. All outputs are adjustable and fully regulated to 0.2 percent or better (load) and 0.1 percent (line). Mechanical and electrical modifications to standard modules are readily available upon request. Schaefer can design and manufacture full custom solutions.

Prices start from $3,270 each per 100 units. Delivery is in five to eight weeks, and discounts are available.
