Rohm Electronics Offering Two New Voltage Regulators, BA33C25FP and BA33C18FP

February 26, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Rohm Electronics (UK) is now offering two new voltage regulators offering dual outputs of either 3.3V and 2.5V or 3.3V and 1.8V, with built-in protection. The BA33C25FP and BA33C18FP two-channel, low-dropout voltage regulators are designed for input voltages between 3V and 16V and maximum currents of 1A. The respective output voltages of 3.3/2.5V and 3.3/1.8V are controlled to within ±2 percent. Suitable for a wide variety of space-limited applications, the new low-dropout-voltage regulators integrate a PNP power transistor with built-in over output current protection circuitry.

The new devices contain an onboard thermal shut-down circuit, which provides protection against thermal breakdown. They come in TO252-5 packaging with dimensions of 6.50 x 5.50 x 2.30mm. Rated operating temperature is between -40 and 85 degrees C, while power dissipation for both devices is 1000mW at 25C.
