RO Associates Announces the Release of the SuperVerter SVD48-0503

May 30, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

RO Associates (Sunnyvale, CA) announced the release of the SuperVerter SVD48-0503, a new 110W dual-output half-brick with a 48V input. The SVD48-0503 has an output of 3.3V at 15A and 5V at 12A. It uses synchronous rectification and proprietary planar magnetics. The SVD48-0503 comes in a package of 2.28” x 2.4” x 0.5” and can deliver a full 110W. The device can be operated without a heatsink with up to 100 degrees C temperature.

The SuperVerter modules are claimed to have high efficiency, constant frequency, and are isolated. They operate at full power over a baseplate range of -40 to 100 degrees C, achieving up to 40W per cubic inch. The outputs are independent with a common ground as standard. Floating outputs are optional. The modules include remote sense, positive and negative on/off logic options, and clamping over-voltage protection. They also have standard threaded mounting holes, a trim range of ±10 percent and 105 degrees C over-temperature shutdown protection. Additional features include current limiting and short-circuit protection.

Evaluation boards are available and the modules are UL-, CSA-, TUV- and CE-compliant. Pricing for the SVD48-0503 is $170 for a single-piece, and $140 each for 100-piece quantities. Delivery is stock to six weeks ARO.
